What the game does well is conveying humor. The latter is even easier than the former. In addition, the difficulty level in terms of bosses does not increase. Something that is not up to you, but to the game itself. Due to a clumsy camera angle, which you can adjust yourself, you will even die regularly at the first boss. Where you can almost ignore the little ones you encounter – which are always the same enemies – that is not the case for the bigger bosses. The balance in terms of enemies is also a bit curious. These levels are fantastic, but are only sporadically present in the game. Because in itself there are occasionally nice pieces, including a few – levels. The variation in levels is also not completely balanced. It would therefore have been better if these new ones had not been distributed over a continent, but had been made available to the public much more quickly. Later, for example, Scrat can do a double jump and “fly.” Only then does the variation start to increase, but the problem is that you only start combining all these skills in the last few levels and just when you start to like it, the credits are there (by the way, already after 2.5 o’clock!). The power of the game is that you get a new move per world. Meanwhile, you have to solve the same kind of puzzles, namely finding an acorn and placing it on something, so that another door opens. The game is very busy with jump over here, whack that enemy and get all the crystals. The first hour of the game is too simple, because you can do so little and there is bizarrely little variation in the gameplay. Is the game fun enough for that? Not at first, but later. We therefore judge this game for the target group: the little ones. You can usually just run past them, except for a few – even with the later ‘bits’ in the game. Scrat has a life bar and along the way you can pick up if you’re hit by the enemies you encounter, but it doesn’t get very exciting. ![]() Another thing that shows it’s for little ones is that you can die indefinitely. Ice Age Scrat’s Nutty Adventure is way too easy in the beginning. Why? Because it adds little to the experience of the game. So you will soon leave the crystals behind, as well as the rest of the hidden in the game. Nice, but not something for which you go through the game on repetition. Only when you have finished the game do you discover that you can view drawings with those crystals that were used for designing the game. You soon realize that you never know what you can do with the purple crystals. Maybe there will be a -? Something similar to the Skylanders franchise, for example? But no, unfortunately. ![]() But from the first second you are all collecting purple crystals, while it is never explained why you are collecting them.Īs a seasoned gamer, you have hope. However, it is gradually told what kind of button you can press if you have to do something new. What is bizarre, by the way: one is missing in its entirety. You can only jump, kick, punch the ground and throw acorns. Unfortunately, a difficulty level cannot be set. The controls of the game are very easy in the beginning. ![]() Now there are much more games that, just like this game, indicate an age of 7 years, but in this case that is literally the message. In this Ice Age Scrat’s Nutty Adventure review you can read what the new Ice Age game is like. Someone who is never cold is Scrat, the protagonist of the Ice Age series who is ALWAYS looking for his acorn. With winter coming, you get cold at the thought.
